There she stood, Dressed a long blue gown. Holding

There she stood,
Dressed a long blue gown.
Holding the lotus tipped sword in one hand,
And a pomegranate in the other.
She was the ultimate embodiment,
Of marriage, fidelity, fertility and childbirth.
The Queen Mother,
The Queen of Gods.
Zeus's consort and a victim of his treacherous ways.
Within her, she held rage and jealousy,
To others, she was a cold and bitter woman.
But like most women, only misunderstood.
She was a giver,
Her loyalty met with betrayal.
Be it her husband and brother, the mighty Zeus,
Or her friend and former lover, Hades.
Respect is what she longed,
For she was a woman worth her salts.
But such was her fate, a mother's fate,
She only could forgive like one.
She was Shachi,
Motherhood personified.
