I slipped into my sheets and beat the pillow a bit

I slipped into my sheets and beat the pillow a bit to let the air out. It is weird how we fluff up the pillows to make use of the deformable contents and feel comfort in the snug they acquire. Some disturbances make us feel in place and are not unwelcome for a change. Same cannot be said for an out of place key, or a lost wallet or that pair of glares you placed in a different place the other day.

To be fair I did not expect to find them in the fridge, but then it was not only the glares, you kept forgetting your pills, shoes, closing doors, opening windows and one day I saw you rushing hysterically away from me out the gate shouting and complaining of an intruder in the house.

Things changed pretty quickly.

I have to keep track of visiting hours, I used to remind you who I am every month, and now it happens every Sunday. I fluff the pillow a bit more on such nights to make it feel like your lap.

The comfort is missing. #ThumbSizedStories #Ep35

challenged by Sara Jothi and initiated by Kavipriya Moorthy I write these stories fixating and defining an u easy premise to make sense of the chaos. Hopefully I will find courage to finish up an episode drama I was writing and left in between soon. Till then, keep reading.
