I never believed this statement, "Poor is becoming poorer & rich is getting richer". I've always trusted the statistics & those increasing percentages of employment, literacy that overall depicts how good our country is moving forward in terms of development. My faith or better patriotism has always given me optimism & high hopes of seeing every child attending school, having meals, being medically fit & all those dreams that are still in progress.

So, I was given this english assignment to write an essay on “Substantial Development of India” where I again showed my disliking for the statement I mentioned at the top. All went well. The teacher was all smiles after which she appreciated me for my efforts. As I was about to leave, she asked me to stop as there was one error I still needed to fix. She said, “Do one thing, to make it more impactful replace the word ‘poor’ with ‘underprivileged’.”

Meanwhile she pressed the bell & a 7 y/o malnourished child arrived with a cup of tea. She took a sip of it & suddenly cringed. She threw the rest at him and asked him to bring a fresh one.

That moment I realised that some people are fine with giving fancy words to them but acquaintance. We ourselves do not let them grow, instead we grow making them our foundation and then words like underprivileged covers up everything like how you sometimes hide the ugliest things in the prettiest vessels.
