//Friendship that withstood ravages of time//

At that time the cities of Alsace and Lorraine were under German control. The military rule was not so solicitous. Trafficking of children for labour purpose was the talk of the town. One of them was Sohrab, an orphan who was sold to the military head for some bucks. Sohrab was a pro in slingshot.

But, his childhood was gradually spoiling. Taking care of the needs of military officers, sometimes even getting sexually harassed by them was merely giving any time to him to think about the way of escaping. The unshed tears were shining in his eyes and the pauses between chuckles showed his silent screams.

Then, one day out of the blue, someone arrived to the buildings. A tall, specy and beared man who was in his early thirties. He asked for Sohrab but got refusal from the officers who was using him as a toy to satiate their sadistic pleasure. It resulted in the fight of the head and the man and ultimately the man won to him.

He took Sohrab with him. When Sohrab tried to know who he was and what was his identity, he said "Your dad and I were very good friends. We used to play together, I read stories to him and we were the epitome of everlasting friendship. Once, we were wandering and I got a pistol in the road, to check its originality I pushed the trigger and to my ill luck it hitted to an old women who was selling cakes nearby. The police were called and snatching the pistol from me, your dad surrendered. He was hanged to death for me. I could do nothing for him. Lately I got to know about you. So, I thought this as a way to be good again, to do something good for him. I'm taking you home dear Sohrab and thank you for trusting me."

Sohrab was wonderstrucked, he could say nothing but utter, "Some friendships on the earth never die."
