7/40 [instant gratification and cheap pleasures]

[instant gratification and cheap pleasures] In today's world of instant gratification it's easy to lose track on one's progress. We want results in a day or within a week. You tell me, how is this even possible? Suppose you took a resolve to lose weight finally after all the junk food years; you shouldn't expect to lose 10 kgs in 10 days. If you try unnatural ways to do it, you'll soon find yourself even worse than before. Always remember, your messing with nature will only mess you up.

There are likes, upvotes, comments, hearts, porn, whatsapp status updates, instagram and facebook stories, delicious food on your thumbs, and video games of a million kind trying to use you completely. Don't think you're the one using them because they are using you. It's normal to feel dejected when you quit all these for a cause. The cravings are so strong you want to jump in the sea of pleasures yet again because you don't see any progress in your life within a week. This is the time when you need to be the most resolute.

Just yesterday I noticed a spider in the centre of the spider web. I thought she was dead because she was incredibly still and unmoving. So, to check if she was alive, I pulled one of the strings of the web. To my astonishment, she was alive and panicking! She quickly made it to the safety place in one of the four iron rods and waited still for some time. In my curiosity, I pulled the very iron rod and released it, causing serious vibrations to the spider. I know it wasn't a good thing but I wanted to see her reaction. She kind of flied to another iron rod and became still there! Maybe she thought she was hiding from me when I could have easily killed her. In my childhood days I have broken a few spider webs and killed spiders just for fun. I don't anymore.

After destroying a little creature's home, I left the place and got engaged in my own things for an hour or so. Then I came back to check what the hell the spider was up to. What I saw was both obvious and amazing at the same time. The resolute spider was already working on her new home. Three long triangular strings were already set up and the circular web was about to be created. This made me realise a couple things.
