Trisanku was the king of the lunar dynasty in ancient India. One day, King Trisanku came to his Guru Vasishta and pledged "Guru Vasishta, I want to leave this earth, not as a soul, but in my human body! Guru Vasishta exclaimed incredulously, "That is impossible! I cannot help you. That is unholy and blasphemous.
King Trisanku begged him but Vasishta refused to listen or help. But king Trisanku was not the one to give up so easily.
I will approach Vasishta's hundred sons and put forth my request, said the king to himself. How dare you come to us with your demands when our father has already refused your preposterous plea!
The sons were so enraged that they cursed King Trisanku to become an untouchable. The next morning, when the king woke up, he was totally misshapen and deformed. His jewels and ornaments had turned into bones and fragments of skulls. "Oh no! What has happened to me! King Trisanku cried when he saw his image. "Who are you? Where is the king? Thundered the courtier of the royal bed chambers when he chanced upon the king.
