"Where are you from" is trigger question for me. It triggers a flood full of memories of being different versions of me. When traveling outside Delhi, a simple one word answer "Delhi" is almost always sufficient. But when I want to tell people of Delhi, how I from the city, I chose different answers. If I was in North/North West Delhi like Jahangirpuri or Kamla Nagar, I tell them I was bought up in Model Town/Priyadarshini Vihar and Rohini. When I am in Central Delhi, I relish about my Nani house memories from Daryaganj. When I was in Okhla, I talk about being born in Saket and also about living in Malviya Nagar/Green Park since last 2 years. On a rare occasion that I am in Gurgaon, I brag about my South Delhi pincode and being neighbours with Big B. It's beautiful how one person is an amalgamation of so many places and their experience. It is equally ironic that I feel out of place in most places in Delhi. Except when I am in a cab, constantly moving and picking up pieces of this city, just enough to relate but never enough to belong. #desidillidarshan #welcometomycity #delhi #delhidiaries #dilli
