He was all late once again
Like he has always been
He asked permission to the teacher present in the hall. May I come in sir?
He was welcomed with a frisky look.
Sehnaz was surprised seeing Rohit.

Sehnaz worked really hard for this entrance examination
It was her dream to get into the National Law University. As they say with good comes something bad same was for Sehnaz.
At times she cursed herself for being the topper.

There was always an extra added load on her shoulder of proving her friends wrong alongside her parents.

Her friends and classmates never really saw what Rohit saw. Her friends and classmates had their own versions of Sehnaz.
Some said she was good at parroting.
Some said she was egoistic.
None of them were true.

Rohit knew she was the brightest amongst all.
He knew from the day he saw her.

You might be thinking who is Rohit?

He is the same guy who came late in the examination hall.

Some said a looser,
Some said a nerd,
Some said चूतिया.

Hero to my story.
He was good for nothing
Neither the coolest one
Neither the brightest one
He knew nothing
Humblest of all
He was told love happened only after marriage until the day he saw Sehnaz.

It is a one sided affair.
Sehnaz never knew about Rohit.

It's been 5yrs now we are all moving on but Rohit couldn't.
He was there siting beside Sehnaz appearing for the entrance examination.
He just didn't wanted to leave her.

We are divided by lots of things
We are divided from the very Beginning
But we were United too
Through our beliefs
Through our Culture
Through our Morality
All those saying by great personalities like Swami Vivekananda, APJ Abdul Kalam, Rabindranath Tagore,Mahatma Gandhi.

Sitting together may it be Eid, Diwali
Sharing meal together
Hugging each other
We are being told back on our school that We all are one, living together like a big joint family
Stacked to each other
By being called Indians.

Things are changing these days.
Killing, Lynching, Discriminating on the basis of what we eat, what we believe, language we speak, clothes we wear are on the rise.

Who are these people?
Trying to tear us apart
Where will all these lead us too.
These days it's very hard to trust.

Who are these people stealing our identity
Preaching inequality and cruelty.

Will this nation survive like these??
I see people like me trapped in between hatred
In between right and wrong.
In between what's just and unjust.

Am I the only one who feels like these or there are others who feel the same?
Will you ever fight against this environment of distrust?

Let's pick up our Pens
Let's pick up the papers
Write our own destiny.

Let's make our family proud
Let's make this Big Joint Family Proud.

"Pellet Queen "

Her eyes are like those flashy stars, her Grandfather said
We will call her Najma. Najma was born in Kashmir's Baramulla District.

Her father, Abdulla a Carpenter always yearned to father a girl child. On the day when she came to this world he went around his neighborhood & shared his happiness with each one he could find in the street.

Every bit of Osman Majid Street came to know that Najma was born.

To Abdulla Najma was his आंखों का तारा (apple of his eyes)

He was different from any other Abba in Kashmir valley, never terrified of raising a girl child in an area where the activities of militancy was at it's peak.

Abdullah could never study but he wanted her to study
Abdullah never went to school but wanted his daughter to be in one of the best missionary school in the district.
Abdullah was a Carpenter but wanted Najma to be an Architect.

She was just 14 when all that Abdullah dreamed off were shattered into thousands pieces.

The Qur’an invokes the importance of Friday as a sacred day of worship in a chapter called “Al-Jumah,” meaning the day of congregation, which is also the word for Friday in Arabic.

It was on that holy day when that unholy incident took place.

Najma was returning from school when she found herself entrapped amidst protesters raising slogans against the government which turned ferocious that day.

Soldiers and the Police retaliated.
Next day Najma found herself in a Government hospital. Pellets designed to save people destroyed her flashy eyes.
Today she is fighting for her life and Abdullah again running around the neighborhood this time to save her life.
