Once upon a time, in a field on a hot summer day, a hardworking ant was gathering food for the winter. The ant would hurry back and forth, carrying heavy grains of wheat and corn to his underground home. Meanwhile, a carefree grasshopper was lounging in the sun, enjoying the beautiful weather. When the grasshopper saw the ant working so hard, he mocked him and said, "Why are you working so hard on such a beautiful day? Come and enjoy the sun with me!" The ant replied, "I am gathering food for the winter. When the cold weather comes, I will have plenty to eat and you will have nothing." The grasshopper laughed and said, "Winter? There's plenty of time for that! Why waste your time working so hard now when you could be enjoying the summer like me?" As the summer passed and autumn arrived, the grasshopper realized that the ant was right. The weather grew colder, and food became scarce. The grasshopper, who had not saved any food for the winter, grew hungry and weak. He went to the ant's home and asked for some food. The ant, who had prepared for the winter, gave the grasshopper a small share of his food. He then said, "You should have thought of winter while it was still summer."
