She was shocked that her brother did not want to follow the normal procedure of a swayamvara! At a swayamvara, Rukmini would have the right to choose her own husband! Knowing she would be forced to agree to these preposterous suggestions, Rukmini decided to write to Krishna and ask him for help. In a beautifully drafted letter, she opened her heart as well as her daunting situation to Krishna. This letter was smuggled out by a Brahmin messenger!
