White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-136 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY I AM SORRY I am sorry I don't know my father I don't know my mother I am largely immune to their pain and pleasure I don't remember where I was born With whom and how I was brought up I have forgotten everything My love, relationships and past. My only passion and obsession is a golden tomorrow I don't remember history I don't know Mahatma Gandhi One thing I know I have a career The be-all and end-all of life Which I have to pursue with love and vigour People have come and go I do not remember how many I have forgotten those Who have made me what I am Coz I strongly believe whatever I am today is because of me In my memory are only those Through whom I can be identified Who can be my ladder to success Here nothing but success matters I want to succeed even at the cost of my own Of what use this beautiful world The sweetest of relationships If I am a failure Languishing in a silent corner having no taker I will reach the zenith of glory Pinnacle of success Once there Nobody will ask me how I am there Success is my love and passion The beats of my heart, pupil of my eyes It is nothing but the lure of success that defines me and my attitude better Smruti Ranjan Mohanty© 4.10.2019 All Copyrights Reserved smrutiweb.wordpress.com smrutitanuja.blogspot.com https://www.facebook.com/titutiku/ Picture-google ©Smruti Ranjan Mohanty #GoodNight SOMETHING I LOOK AT-136 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY I AM SORRY I am sorry I don't know my father I don't know my moth

In the golden haze of the 1990s, when days were long and summers endless, there existed a small corner store nestled between two maple trees with a sign that read "Jake's Corner." For the neighborhood kids, Jake's Corner was more than just a place to buy candy—it was a portal to a world of sweet adventures. Every afternoon, after school let out with a chorus of laughter and shouts, we would gather at Jake's Corner like clockwork. The bell above the door chimed cheerfully as we rushed in, greeted by rows upon rows of colorful candies that seemed to stretch endlessly. It was our candy wonderland. The shelves were lined with all the classics: gummy bears in every flavor imaginable, sour candies that made our tongues tingle, and chocolate bars wrapped in shiny foil that crinkled deliciously when opened. But amidst the familiar favorites, there were also treasures that seemed to beckon us with their novelty—a new bubblegum that turned your tongue blue or a mysterious lollipop shaped like an alien spaceship. Each of us had our own strategy for selecting the perfect candy. Some carefully calculated how many quarters they had saved, while others relied on the wisdom of the day's special offer. The excitement was palpable as we debated flavors and shared our discoveries with wide-eyed enthusiasm. Outside Jake's Corner, under the shade of those old maple trees, we would unwrap our treasures and trade candies like seasoned merchants. There were negotiations over who got the last piece of a coveted treat and agreements to swap our least favorites for something better. As the sun dipped low in the sky, casting long shadows across the pavement, we would reluctantly bid farewell to Jake's Corner, our pockets lighter but our spirits soaring. With sticky fingers and happy hearts, we knew that tomorrow held the promise of another sweet adventure at our favorite corner store—the place where memories were made one candy at a time in the magical 90s. ©twisha ray Jake's corner #storyheart #trnojo44 #turningpoint
