The silly, little rose Valiantly demanded To be left on her own; For, she abhorred Being adjudged fragile Or even timid; Yet, she failed to perceive That her trenchant barbs Weren't the ones, That needed shielding; For, the predators Solely preyed on Her diaphanous petals And really not On her risible thorns; Besides, the enemies Travelled with wings.
