I slither through the shadowed alleys, Of this blighted village, of yore. My claws, enshrouded by ruined skin, Deep within my bulging pockets. My filthy overcoat cannot mask The mephitic perfume of fetid rot. Surely, everyone perceives My atrocious arrival. Yet, all around are crumbling shutters-- Closed, with draperies secured. I think the ancient residents Discern the sudden appearance Of an execrable presence, Within their midst! I glide, quietly--careful not to ruffle The incendiary hush that begs To conceal the stench of quivering fear, Hanging in the zephyr. For, no one truly cares to peek, Beyond my repugnant veneer, anyhow. Mayhap, if they lent A smidgen of compassion-- Or, even, a tinge of decrepit gallantry; They'd glean the stalwart fact That I'm as innocous as can be. "Judgement" #judgement #diwa #yqbaba
