I was skipping along the by-ways-- My feisty dragon friends and I. Fabricating blazing bonfires; Creating sizzling, little dents. Then, there emerged An egregious creature; His piercing eyes appeared To be drenched with unyielding fire. He looked at me, unflinchingly-- As if goading me to comment. I attempted to seem as ruthless As the dragons who cackled By my quailing, diminutive side; Yet, all I could render Was a quivering, risible squeak Of pretended savage might. That was the pitiful moment I realized that I wasn't as ferocious As I assumed myself to be. For, there shall always be Another being who shall be Far better than little me.
