" At 5, I cried over sand castles being washed away by the crashing waves. At 25, I realized why. " I am not a sea person. So when my parents planned a vacation to the sea side I sulked. My memories of the place was back when I was 5, with a twig in one hand and a plastic mug in another trying in vain to make a sand castle with my father, and getting irritated by the sand. Then there are some of us who believe in both. We believe in healing broken hearts and igniting hope in those who lost faith in love. We believe all the love they once promised someone comes back to them some day. We believe in promising them that some day they will eventually find what they are looking for. A home. A place to rest their wandering souls. We pray that what we told them is true. And in all of that, which people often call selfless deeds or positivity, we have our own hopes. Our own deep selfish intentions. The hope that all we ever dreamt of, wished for, and hoped for, once, to be a part of our story, will eventually come back to us, in some form or the other, through people. Recently I had a discussion with a friend on the notions of adoption. It is so sad that with a population density that our country has, rarely people are ready to adopt until they cannot have a child of their own. It is actually a failure of us as a society not to be able to provide homes to the children. Adoption doesn't necessarily have to be only when you or your partner are incapable of having a child, or a disaster strikes. Everyone capable enough to have some luxuries in life should contri
