Who are you? What are you? You are making me feel what I never did, and I'm scared.. What would become of me? Losing control over my senses, feeling lightheaded as if drifting in clouds, I keep following you.... Why? Your surreptitious calls, like a siren in an uncharted sea; Your fleeting image, like a mirage in a desert, Your quick light steps, like a wisp in a bog; Why am I so drawn to you? I feel your fragrance in the air, calling out to me; I keep following it as in a daze, When I see the stars meet like us in the darkness of night, So close.. yet so far away; I reach out to you, I look at you To discern your radiating warmth; But the curves of the road make you vanish from my sight... And yet again, I'm caught in this cryptic trance... Yes..my heart is fragile; No.. I don't feel the need to apologize. It's like a box of glass, delicate, immaculate and kept with care. It holds in the warmth, that keeps me alive on frosty nights, That makes me feel my own breath, that you bring with youself. I gently bring you in, I make you feel at home; attend to all your needs, Just yearning a little warmth from you, that keeps me going. But when you ruthlessly try to storm out, I can do nothing But stare at your back, watch you try to break the walls that once aimed to protect you. And you do... you break them mercilessly, for what strength can mere glass hold Compared to your desperation to escape? You leave with a hole, shattered glass and a mess, that I am obliged to clean, for I was the one who let you in. Yet again to try to return, nonchalantly as if you never left. But now... It's different. The door is locked & the hole, your hole, is now with sharper edge, it's you who crafted this. You shall feel the jab of every sharp edge, blocking you, barring you from entering; And I... I watch from afar, you getting betrayed by your own fabrication For glass maybe fragile, but lethal when aptly weilded. Trust and love are very powerful but fragile... and hate or resentment may seem weak but when unleashed can go far to as much commit heinous crimes. Both must be taken care of really well. She met him after years on a day when they never expected so. Minds hazy with thoughts, eyes rheumy with memories, Hearts racing a mile a minute, breathes slightly hitching... They kept staring at each other but couldn't utter a word. The world was a joke for trying to catch their attention. Just as she parted her mouth to say something she didn't know herself.. Curse his phone ringing that made him steal his gaze away from her. Maybe now the surroundings held a bit more importance than it before. Gathering air and courage when his call finally ended, she asked him something that always poked her conscience, " Maybe we could have been together and happier had we done each other a little better back then. Maybe we could've tried a little more harder to stay... why do you think we never worked out?" " I think... we are like the two entities parted the horizon. I am the sky and you the ocean. We seem to meet at some point, it seems the fine line will cease to exist if we try a bit harder. We thought we could make it work..." "But in reality... our tries will only be futile because the distance between us cannot be fathomed." "We were never meant to be... " We never realise but even though we want to stay with someone or something.. sometimes its just not meant to be.
