Miss Ramona my English teacher. I remember her as an extremely well groomed, wearing bell bottoms and sleeveless tops.I admired the way she carried herself and most of all her kind manner towards all the students.I never saw her angry,ill tempered or even a frown on her forehead. She made us read the text one by one with the right tone and intonation which I followed as a teacher throughout my career. One day she beckoned asking me to bring a pile of books into the staff room. I couldn't believe that she actually saw me. I still remember the great feeling of self importance entering the staff room and being rewarded by her beautiful smile of thankyou. Leela teacher in the fifth standard. Why? She placed her complete trust in me by selecting me to compete in the elocution competition and was sure I would win the prize. I did and as a bonus I won a kiss from her. The only teacher to have given me a memorable loving peck on the cheek which I cherish till date more than the trophy I won. No other lips have touched my skin since then, so the imprint stays more vividly, more cherished. God bless her good soul. In the bracket of love You imparted us knowledge. The love I have for you, Cannot be divided. To live, love & laugh, You taught us implicitly And it multiples through me Like a twig growing from a giant tree All the teachings & the moments Remain added to the memories How you listened to our problems Subtracted them with fun, being witty. So many years passed Help me sum up these memories. Sharing the success stories with you now remain only imaginary As the God has subtracted my Chance to meet you in reality. No matter which scale you use, You can't measure this grief Or maybe if you can, Then teach me once more please! MY FAVOURITE TEACHER. I now realise how hard you & the other teachers tried to make me come out of my shell. I couldn't understand it back then. Whenever I push myself out of the shell now, I recall all your efforts & feel them in the present. They do encourage me & keeps up my morale. I owe a lot to my teachers.
